Medical Aesthetics & Laser Skin Care Treatments in the Comox Valley

At Coastal Dermatology and Medical Aesthetics, we provide a wide array of treatments that combine the latest laser and medical technologies to help you achieve healthier, more radiant and youthful-looking skin. From CoolSculpting, MicroNeedling and Botox injections to laser hair and scar removal, our team is here to help you look and feel your best.

We only perform cosmetic laser treatments that are backed up by peer-reviewed scientific literature, and the results experienced by so many of our satisfied clients are a testament to how well they work with little to no downtime or pain.

Cosmetic laser treatments are not recommended when you have any level to tan or on any type of light sensitive medication.

CoolSculpting

What is CoolSculpting (non-surgical fat reduction)? – Non-surgical or minimally invasive options for fat reduction include technology that uses heat, cooling or an injected medication to reduce fat cells.  Our treatment of choice is CoolSculpting – a non-surgical procedure that selectively reduces unwanted fat using a patented cooling technology. It’s non-surgical and doesn’t contain needles. It’s a less invasive way to contour and reshape your body but shows results much like liposuction.

Body Contouring

What is Body Sculpting? – Body sculpting is a body contouring solution that maximizes results with an innovative product design. We use an all-in-one platform that delivers multiple technologies on one system to remodel skin, target adipose tissue, and tone muscles.

Coastal Dermatology is one of the only medispas in the Comox Valley (Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland) to offer body sculting, which means you can get your treatment close to home and with a professionally trained technician who has been helping people look and feel their best for years.

Vascular Lesion Treatment

What is Vascular Lesion Treatment?Vascular lesions are relatively common abnormalities of the skin and underlying tissues, such as hemangiomas, vascular malformations, and pyogenic granulomas. Our laser vascular lesion treatments are effective, fast treatments for vascular lesions.

Pulsed Light Laser

What is Pulsed Light Laser? – Sometimes called Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or photofacial, Pulsed Light Laser is used for many skin conditions and imperfections. With a Pulsed Light Laser, the colour and texture of your skin can be improved without surgery or downtime. IPL uses light energy to target particular colours in your skin and reduces them, giving you a more even skin tone.

Laser Hair Removal

What is Laser Hair Removal? If you are looking for a permanent way to remove hair, look no further! Laser hair removal is a medical treatment that uses a concentrated beam of light to remove unwanted hair. This is done by destroying the hair follicle, ensuring hair is removed permanently.

MicroNeedling

What is Microneedling? – A cosmetic treatment that uses tiny sterilized needles to puncture the skin, causing an increased production of collagen and elastin to help heal the skin. In essence, it kick starts your body’s natural healing response which creates collagen and elastin. This leaves you with a brighter, younger, smoother, and firmer appearance. Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy.

Hydrafacial Treatment

What is a Hydrafacial?A non-invasive, non-laser hydradermabrasion treatment that can improve your skin’s tone, elasticity, and hydration. It can also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, all in as little as 30 minutes. The treatment can be quite soothing, and has been described as having a cool paintbrush moving slowly over the skin. You’ll leave with clearer skin that feels moisturized, rejuvenated, and radiant.

Laser Genesis Skin Treatment

What is Laser Genesis skin health treatment?A non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a laser to gently heat the skin, helping to resurface the skin and encourage it to produce new cells and collagen.

Nail Fungus Laser Treatment

What is Laser Nail Fungus Treatment? It is a laser treatment that treats both the toenail and soft tissue, killing the hard-to-reach nail fungus and helping to promote new and healthy nail growth.

Laser Wart Treatment

What is laser wart treatment?A laser treatment that effectively treats all warts that are fed by blood vessels, most typically plantar warts. Pulses of energy cause blood within wart-feeding vessels to coagulate or thicken, destroying the surrounding tissue, redirecting blood flow to healthier veins and “starving” the wart.

Botox, Dysport & Nuceiva

What are Botox, Dysport and Nuceiva? – Botox, Dysport, and Nuceiva are all neuromodulators used to relax wrinkles and reduce the movements which result in frown lines, forehead lines, lines on the nose, crows feet around eyes, and lines around the mouth. They work to reduce muscle activity by blocking nerve impulses that cause the muscle to contract, helping you to look younger and more rested.

Dermal Skin Fillers

What are dermal skin fillers?Dermal filler is a gel-like substance injected into the skin at different depths to help fill in facial wrinkles, provide facial volume, and augment facial features. Most dermal fillers are temporary, as they are eventually absorbed by the body.

Skin Tag Treatment

What is electrocautery or skin tag removal? An in-office procedure that uses electrical current to remove specific skin imperfections, such as skin tags. The electric current is passed through a metal wire electrode, which generates heat that is then applied to living tissue to achieve varying degrees of tissue destruction.
